  1. New Astrobiology Centre at Stockholm University, Sweden

    A new Astrobiology Centre is going to be founded at Stockholm University. It will be a virtual centre to which the Departments of Astronomy, Geology, Molecular Biology and Functional Genomics Physics at Stockholm University contribute. The centre will be devoted to a multitude of interdisciplinary research efforts, of which some will be carried out in cooperation with NAI teams. During the next 4 years there will be 4 postdoctoral researchers be employed for these projects. Moreover, 5 Ph. D. positions staring in autumn have been announced (information about these announcements can be found under http://astrobiology.physto.se/).

    Apart from scientific activities the centre, which will be an extension of the existing Astrobiology Graduate School, will organise special courses in astrobiology, summer schools, conferences and seminars. The Nordic Network of Astrobiology is also coordinated from Stockholm.
